We know you love your pets, well so do we here at Dust Storm Engraving. That’s why we offer custom laser engraved pet portraits on 1/8-inch-thick panels of various plywood.  Depending on wood choice, the sizes are 11.25″ or 11.75″ in either a circle or square shape.  The plywood has a sanded smooth natural surface with unfinished edges.  Engravings come with a wooden holder included to place them on.  We currently offer Mohogany, Poplar, and Cherry.  Each wood type produces a unique end result from the combination of different grains and colors.  The variations in the wood grain will give your engraving a natural look by maintaining its visibility in the image engraved.  When laser engraved, the lighter woods tend to have more contrast, while the darker woods’ contrast is more subtle.  The laser engraving renders photo-like details on the wood surface.  We may only use digital, high-definition photos and recommend they be HDR (High Dynamic Range).  For best results, the photos should have dynamic contrasting shadows and highlights while avoiding large areas of shadow or glare.  Photos must be clear and at least 300dpi. Preferably, uploaded files should be .bmp or .tiff.  You may also upload .gif, png, .jpg.  The engraved photo of your furry family members can be an extremely meaningful, personalized pet gift or just something cool and fun for yourself.

We crop your pet’s bust from the photo to be used for the engraving.  Then we carefully design, retouch, and process the photo in preparation for laser engraving.  No worries about what is in the rest of the photo as it will be cropped out.  You may add your pet’s name along with our style of framework.  The laser settings are thoroughly tested to achieve the best engraving effect.  You will have not just a photo, but a personalized, one-off, custom art piece full of emotion and memories that can be in your family for generations.
